Did anyone watch the Hotel Inspector last night at the Crown in Lewes?

Complaints have been flooding in this morning to the powers that be. I was disgusted that this place was given 3 stars.
Whoever has a three star or below should be very angry, Blackpool has been picked on regularly about it's quality. We all work hard to keep up our standards and always strive to achieve the best.
Visit Britain has made a mockery of the star ratings. If you feel the same way, please make your views known..
After watching that last night, I want and deserve 4 stars.
Plus, it has done nothing for the reputation of that Polizzi woman either.

What amused me more than the fact they were given the 3 stars, was
ReplyDeletethat despite operating with so many awful reviews in such FILTHLY
conditions, they were still allowed to have 2 STARS!!!!!!!!
This is exactly what I have always thought of these awards, and makes
a complete mockery of the system, which is the MAIN reason we have
never given them our money. It should be the guests who use
VisitBritain to search for their accommodation who should be
complaining about their standards they set.
I also agree that hoteliers in Blackpool who already offer decent
accommodation have been hounded recently to improve their standards,
and the fire service have insisted on expensive systems and
improvements, when those who seem to offer very poor standards seem to
get away with it. Its a bit like the old CSA who decided to chase
those who where already paying something, and ignore the more
difficult ones who havn't done anything.
I know of many hotels around the country, far bigger than ourselves,
who still operate with no fire alarm system in bedrooms, let alone an
L2 system, and nothing seems to be said to them! Unfortunately, its
Blackpools past record that goes against us, and the council, quite
rightly, wanting to improve this image.
Visit Britain's own assessment of their star awards...
1* Simple, comfortable, no frills
2* Well presented and well run
3* Good level of quality and comfort
4* Excellent standard throughout
5* Exceptional with a degree of luxury
If Vist Britain thinks that the Crown was "well presented and well
run" last night, then we should all receive 5 stars, so long as you
want to give them your money!!!
